This highly recommended Mio 269 Sat Nav device is the latest in PNA technology!! The Mio 269 offers a PDA with Microsoft Windows CE 4.2, MP3 player, Mass Storage Drive (700MB) and Contacts & Calendar Microsoft Outlook compatible with Sat Nav.

Unlike PDA Sat Nav packages, the Mio 269 is a Plug-And-Go package that needs no configuration or additional GPS antenna to function for Sat Nav, as the Mio 269 is equipped with a built-in Sirfstar II with Xtrack GPS chipset. The Mio 269 unit comes with MioMap CE version 1.0 based on the Navigon Mobile Navigator 4 navigation software, and detailed map data for 22 European Countries.

The Mitac Mio 268 and Mitac Mio 269 are powered by 300 MHz Intel PXA255 processors, the two handhelds both come with 32 MB ROM and 64 MB of RAM, featuring 3.5" transflective TFT touch-screens with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and 16-bit colour depth. Equipped with integrated SiRFStar II GPS chips with XTrack, both units also have an 18 x 18 mm patch antenna with an extended antenna jack.

Also common for both handhelds is an SD Card Memory expansion slot supporting cards of up to 1GB in size, as well as USB for PC connectivity. In addition, both models feature Infrared connectivity, and also have a 3.5 mm jack for audio out. Measuring in at 138 x 78 x 26 mm, the Mio 268 and Mio 269 share each other's vital measurements, however the Mio 269 weighs at 232 g due to its hard drive. Apart from this, the handhelds differ only in the amount of map data included.

The Mio 269 shares all of the specifications of the Mio 268, but adds a 2.5 GB hard drive and Europe-wide maps. The navigation software applied by the Mio 268 and Mio 269 is Personal Navigator 4 from Navigon, offering several pre-set settings for use under varying conditions: car, motorcycle, bicycle and walking - for instance, avoiding cyclists being routed towards highways.

In addition, there is also an MP3 player which Mio Technology suggests using either in combination with SD storage cards or the 600 MB of available space on the hard drive of the Mio 269. Both models contain a car mounting kit. The Mio 269 also comes with a remote control carrying case, bicycle mount and a set of earphones.
